Motor City Makeover

A group of volunteers from SDA joined the East Boston/Arden Park neighborhood in the Motor City Makeover. There is an elementary school in the area, and child safety is of the utmost concern. The concern of the police patrols was to be able to clearly see the children as they walk home from school. The team’s job was to make this lot a safe place for children. Armed with a lawn mower, shovels, rakes, clippers, weed whackers, and muscles, the team did a fantastic job cleaning up this area!

Palace Event

SDA, along with attendees from various municipalities, MDOT, RCOC, architects, contractors, drain commissions, to name a few, met at the Palace of Auburn Hills to hear Mr. Tom Wilson discuss first hand what makes Palace Sports Entertainment the most successful franchise in the sporting world. Mr. Wilson personifies the success of the organization through his effective communication techniques.

SDA has been involved with this charitable organization for several years. SDA, through the help of its employees, and a dollar-for-dollar match by its Board of Directors, collects (and shops for) unwrapped toys to be given to very worthy recipients.

SDA Dream Cruise Luncheon

SDA hosted a luncheon which included nostalgic cars, memorabilia, and wardrobe, embracing the yearly Woodard Dream Cruise theme. An old fashioned lunch was served of hot dogs and burgers on the grill, games were played with winners receiving various gift certificates, and 50's & 60's music from the era was heard by all.

SDA Engineering & Surveying Fair

A group of volunteers from Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc. worked together to host a K-12 Engineering and Surveying Fair at their Rochester Hills office.  The purpose of this event was to build awareness and to promote the civil engineering and surveying fields. The Engineering and Surveying Fair served a dual purpose of engaging our staff while exposing young people to our professions.
