SDA provides complete design, engineering and construction solutions that encompass each aspect of a community's infrastructure needs. From utility master plans to waste water treatment facilities to major highway road and bridge programs, SDA's multi-disciplinary teams of professionals partner with our clients to provide solutions for their growing communities. The infrastructure engineering experience we bring to each relationship includes:
With a highly experienced staff of professional engineers, professional surveyors, designers and technicians, SDA offers municipalities complete engineering services and service to their communities with development, infrastructure, utilities and transportation systems. SDA has developed centers of excellence in review, design, and studies; each with written procedures that aid in ensuring satisfaction of ordinances and standards. This regimen of procedures, checklists, and mentoring allows our team members to provide the highest level of engineering expertise to municipal clients and their communities.
SDA provides bridge, road, and traffic engineering designs to fit modern-day transportation needs.
SDA has developed design and traffic control plans for hundreds of miles of rural and urban roadway, bridges and railroads that carry a variety of traffic volumes. The firm's experience and innovation in road, bridge and traffic engineering enables design to be within budget and on schedule for state, counties, and municipal communities.
Our team of professionals posses extensive knowledge of the design, engineering and construction standards associated with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), as well as requirements for the National Bridge Inventory System, National Highway System and other federal programs.
SDA's knowledge and experience with MDOT and the local county road commissions has proven beneficial to municipal clients and private developers through time and cost efficiencies. In addition, SDA has made a commitment to quality control by engaging an internal Quality Management System representative to oversee the progress of each transportation project. Our QMS representative periodically reviews the project's scope, design schedule and constructability. These reviews promote quality assurance both internally and externally resulting in highly efficient projects for our clients.
By developing a partnership with clients to deliver construction projects safely, on time, and on budget, the result of our construction engineering services ensures project controls are properly understood, expectations are clear and responsibility is appropriately assigned. Our teams use a proprietary SDA Web Portal that provides daily progress on each project. Each team member, including the client, is able to monitor the project through design and engineering documents and daily reports, provide approvals and any other project-based communication - all of which ultimately becomes part of the project file.
In addition, our licensed professional engineers and construction managers are located in field offices or on-site to provide supervision of construction observation and inspection. Many of SDA's senior construction observation technicians have more than 30 years of practical construction observation experience. They also have experience in specialized areas such as deep sewer and tunnel construction, pump stations, municipal utilities systems, and roadway and drainage construction, to name a few.
SDA has a core competency in the design, engineering and construction of all forms of water/waste water distribution systems including clean water provision, sanitary and storm water systems as well as water treatment facility design. Complimenting our technical engineering capability in this area is our experience in assisting communities with capital improvement planning based on growth and aging. These predictive models help our communities develop the right systems for now and the future.
To help support urban and aging infrastructures, SDA has also developed specific expertise in conducting municipal studies and investigations. These services include:
